Belonging to the Asteraceae family, Roman chamomile is a perennial herb with branched stems and aromatic foliage. It is primarily cultivated in Western Europe, including France, Belgium, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

This plant, typically ranging from 10 to 30 centimeters in height, has finely cut light green leaves and white flowers with a yellow disc, resembling small daisies. The flowers, emitting a gentle and soothing fragrance, usually appear between May and September and are hermaphroditic, bearing both male and female organs.

Roman chamomile hydrosol, also known as Roman chamomile floral water, is obtained through the distillation of fresh flowers. This clear and colorless liquid has a characteristic scent that is sweet and slightly herbaceous.
