Non-essential amino acid, Kyowa Quality® grade
7 g- L-Citrulline (Kyowa Quality®)
- L-citrulline is an amino acid naturally found in watermelon and produced by the body during the urea cycle. Kyowa Quality® refers to a controlled fermentation process, guaranteeing purity and traceability documented batch by batch.
- Once absorbed in the intestine, L-citrulline is converted into L-arginine in the kidneys (citrulline-arginine cycle), bypassing the hepatic breakdown that limits direct arginine absorption. The L-arginine produced in this way serves as a substrate for NO synthase (NOS), an enzyme involved in the synthesis of nitric oxide, a signalling molecule that plays a role in vasodilation and peripheral blood circulation. This metabolic pathway raises plasma L-arginine levels more effectively than direct arginine supplementation.
