Active form of plant-based vitamin D, fat-soluble
2000 IU- Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol)
- Biologically active form of vitamin D, naturally produced by the skin under the action of solar UVB rays. Cholecalciferol is an essential fat-soluble vitamin.
- Absorbed in the small intestine along with dietary fats, vitamin D3 undergoes a first hepatic hydroxylation followed by a second renal one to become metabolically active. It then interacts with receptors present in numerous tissues. Without the action of solar radiation, dietary intake is essential.
- Authorized claim: Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system. Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth. Vitamin D contributes to the absorption of calcium and phosphorus. (EU Regulation No. 432/2012)
