Fine Lavender Hydrolate

A member of the Lamiaceae family, Lavandula angustifolia P. Miller, also known as true lavender, fine lavender or lavender officinalis, is a perennial sub-shrub with slender, elongated leaves.

It produces violet-blue to light-blue flowers in terminal clusters on long stems. Lavandula angustifolia is grown mainly in Mediterranean regions, particularly France, Spain, Italy and Bulgaria.

Lavandula angustifolia essential oil is extracted by steam distillation from freshly harvested flowers. It is characterized by a limpid liquid that varies in color from colorless to pale yellow. Its fragrance is sweet, floral and herbaceous, with lightly balsamic notes.
