Belonging to the Rutaceae family, orange blossom is derived from the orange tree, a fruit-bearing tree with thorny branches and evergreen foliage. It is widely cultivated in Mediterranean regions, including Spain, southern France, Italy, and North Africa.

This tree, typically ranging from 5 to 10 meters in height, has a grayish bark and lanceolate, dark green, glossy leaves. The white and fragrant flowers, known as orange blossoms, usually appear between April and June and are hermaphroditic, possessing both male and female organs.

Orange blossom hydrosol, also known as orange blossom floral water, is obtained through the distillation of fresh flowers. This transparent and colorless liquid has a delicate floral scent, with soft and slightly fruity notes.
